I like to invite you on a journey that for many people might sound a little crazy, but just give it a go. It will only cost you 5 minutes and I guarantee you a laugh in the video below: Noise is extremely powerful. It is very difficult to ignore and it will even have an effect on you long after it stopped. At this time of the year leaf blowers could provide this sound for many of us. I guess many people will agree with me that they are a complete nuisance!!! (They are too noisy, present a considerable source of air pollution, produce dust clouds which contain potentially harmful substances, kill substantially more small animals, unnecessarily use fossil fuels etc. …) compared to a technology like a rake or broom.
This is something coworkers could do as well!!! The latest version of the Allgäu-Orient Rally 2013 was sold out in a little more than 2 minutes. 111 participants signed up in this short period to take part in this rally for a good cause. The rules: You can take part in a car that costs less than 1111 Euros, or is older than 20 years. Starting in the south of Germany, the participants will drive to Amman in Jordan, where they will leave their cars for a good cause. What a great idea!!! I think a rally like this would be wonderful for coworking as well. Anybody inspired?

To clarify some points about “Free Coworking” we start this series: “Free Coworking” explained. Today I like to look at one of the most important aspects for “Free Coworking” to become widespread and sustainable. Number One: Without “Applied Teamwork” or “Collaboration” there is no “Free Coworking”. In my introduction to “Free Coworking” on the 6th of January I stressed the importance of Social Capital to attract Financial Capital to finance “Free Coworking”. This process requires that the community (Social Capital) not only exists in terms of grouped desks and chairs, but in terms of real collaboration and real common projects. It is not only the openness to collaborate, that is required, but real projects and the project experience that is gained from these projects. Without real projects, there is no real interaction. Without real interaction, there is no Social Capital. Enjoy the video below which illustrates “practical” cooperation and “applied teamwork” in an unusual setting :-)))
To illustrate and develop the idea of “Crowd Accelerated Innovation“, I will present partly for entertainment, certainly for fun and inspiration a song in several versions (see next couple of days) that certainly has got the potential to become a Coworking Song. For the gifted songwriters among us, maybe someone likes to offer a “coworking related text” ;-) to sing along with. Today the “series” starts with this unplugged version of “If a song could get me you” by Marit Larsen
