“Free Coworking” starts with “Open International CoWorking Calendar”

After setting up a Facebook Group for “Free Coworking” and formulating  some initial thoughts, it is time to promote actual “Free Coworking” offers. The “Open International CoWorking Calendar“, that is now operating for a year, seems to me a very good tool to support this start. Based on the Google Calendar it is easy to import and export Coworking Events across all time zones. As I believe many coworking space managers will start to offer “Free Coworking” alongside “Paid Coworking” the Calendar is an ideal tool to communicate the times and dates when and where “Free Coworking” is available. Alongside the Facebook Group, the Calendar will be extremely beneficial to highlight and develop “Free Coworking”.

A global event like the currently running Jellyweek requires a completely new focus for everyone involved. If you want to communicate and cooperate with someone in a different place on this planet, you have to consider that this person is probably living and working in a different time zone to yourself. If you live in Europe and you start to work with someone in the US this is not too difficult. You check the time zone and find that New York has 6 hours difference and you adjust your time table accordingly. But this is only one “relationship” and only one “time difference” you have to consider. With a global event where about 200 partners are trying to co-operate who are spread across all time zones this is much more tricky.

Today Anni Roolf and Willi Schroll published the Jellyweek Manual for the Jellyweek 2012, that takes place from the 16th to the 22nd of January.  In the manual you find the listing of all the jellies. To get an idea of where the jellies are, it is very nice to refer to the Jelly Map. Also available is the project list that is just starting to build up. To enter a new jelly use the “Jelly Questionnaire“. To enter a new project use the “Project Questionnaire“. Well done Anni Roolf and Willi Schroll!!! Neal Gorenflo of Shareable had a wonderful idea: Introduce a calendar that celebrates dates of citizenship, the commons, and sharing. We feel that this is an excellent addition to the “Open International CoWorking Calendar“. In cooperation with Neal we like to collect your suggestions of which dates we should add. Please comment below and check also Neal´s article and comments on Shareable.
