With less than 40 hours to go, it is clear that the coworking space in Battambang (Cambodia) has reached its goal of 8,500$. The current pledge stands at 10,001$ !!! Congratulations!!! On the 12th of December we presented the project. We hope other projects are encouraged to follow the success of New Work City and now Coworking Battambang to use KICKSTARTER or similar platforms!!!
We believe crowd funding or community lending fit very well to coworking. Ten days ago we presented the crowd funding project for a coworking space in Cambodia through the platform KICKSTARTER. Backing is increasing for this project with 29 days to go. There are also other ways to find finance for a coworking spaces or individual projects through bigger marketplaces like Zopa. THE INDEPENDENT writes: „Zopa, a website which enables consumers to cut out banks and arrange „person-to-person“ loans, has seen its lending double in the last 12 months, amid growing evidence that discontent with the conventional financial system is driving Britons to seek alternative means of accessing funds.“ Have you had any experiences with platforms like Zopa? Does anyone in your coworking space use community lending? Please comment.
If you are interested to support a coworking project in Cambodias second largest city Battambang have a look at their video and project description on the KICKSTARTER platform. New Work City coworking space successfully used the platform, while as „Creative Space, TX“ failed. Good luck to this project!!!
